After a year in TR, this place is easily my favorite place in the South. We come for the atmosphere and food, but especially the people. They encourage "socializin" as Nancy puts it, which makes the experience so much more fun. You can't go wrong!
This place was so charming! I had the club with fresh watermelon on the side, and a strawberry lemonade. We sat on the screened porch, watching the bicyclists ride by. What a great way to relax on a Sunday afternoon!
We ride to Travelers Rest from Columbia to enjoy lunch at the Cafe at Williams Hardware once or twice a year. It's a pretty ride through the countryside and ends with a tasty meal. The owners and staff are always gracious and helpful in setting up our group which usually consists of 15 or more. (calling ahead helps) We like the daily specials and the menu items give a variety of choices.
Wonderful gift shop as well as restaurant. Can always find local gifts to buy here. Great place to go with my MIL.

This is a quaint place to grab breakfast on the weekends or to have lunch while in the Traveler's Rest area. It is operated by two sisters who are close to retirement age but they make everyone fill at home. The food has always been excellent for lunch and I had my first breakfast there last weekend. It was very filling. I had the sausage and cheese omelet which came with a choice of grits or fried potatoes and also choice of bread type, (biscuit, wheat, rye, white). There is also a small store section which sells items for the home. Items include such things a plaques, dishtowels, and some jams and jellies. I think you will like it. It is right on the Swamp Rabbit trail so you can also bike to it.
